CZ P-10 C Review: Is It the Best Compact 9mm?
The P-10 C was CZ's first striker-fired pistol when it launched in 2017, and it quickly became one of the company's most popular handguns. It competes directly with the best-known compact 9mm carry pistols, usually for less money.
What it gets right
- Trigger: short take-up, a clean break and a short reset. It is widely considered one of the better factory striker triggers.
- Ergonomics: a high grip, a low bore and interchangeable backstraps help most hands fit it.
- Capacity: 15 rounds in the standard magazine.
- Options: optics-ready slides, suppressor-height sights and threaded barrels exist across the line.
What to know before buying
- Holster choice is a little narrower than for the most common compact pistols, though every major maker now supports it.
- The magazine release is reversible, but ambidextrous controls vary by version. Check the listing if you shoot left-handed.
- Like any striker gun, it has no manual safety on most models. Carry it in a holster that covers the trigger.
P-10 C versus its siblings
The P-10 F is the full-size version for home and range. The P-10 S is shorter for deep concealment. The P-10 SC puts the compact slide on a full-size grip for more capacity and a full hold. Most buyers are still best served by the C.
Verdict
For a first carry pistol, or for anyone who wants a very good trigger in a compact 9mm without paying extra for it, the P-10 C is an easy recommendation. Buy the optics-ready version unless you are certain you will never want a dot.
